In Gratitude, With Eternal Love, and In My Memory of Jim Harger, M.ED., LPC

(November 9, 1953 to October 1, 2020)

The name of this practice has changed as I am now a solo practitioner, but I am choosing to keep Jim’s legacy alive. I am keeping his blogs and information that refers to ‘US’ on this website.

A mutual friend/colleague asked me if I was unattached and interested in meeting ‘someone’. I said yes because this messenger was the least likely person to do ‘matchmaking.’

Five years ago, from our first texting, I felt his Heart. When we finally met and locked eyes, it was, no doubt, Soul Recognition; we both had a visceral, emotional reaction, and we both ‘knew.’

I was still working as a clinical naturopath and was just accepted into the two years Integrative Energy Medicine schooling at WhiteWinds Institute to begin January 2015. Jim had a thriving Psychotherapy practice in Lawrenceville, GA.

As my schooling began, Jim was my ‘practice’ person. As I became more and more schooled and proficient in skills, he noticed overt shifts in his emotional well-being and physical well-being. Chronic issues were finally dissolving.

After completing my schooling, he offered me the opportunity to join him and open  Atlanta Psychotherapy and Energy Medicine in our own office in Norcross.

Jim was selfless, confident in his skills, true to his word. He transitioned many of his clients into my realm, thus creating our vision, our intention of combined Energy Medicine with Psychotherapy. Clients profoundly flourished and moved through their ‘stuff’ far quicker than ever before. Long term psychotherapy clients were now moving, with grace, through deep-seated woundedness. We both worked with extreme commitment to be of service to humanity. The word spread, the practice grew, and we earned the 2019 Best Psychotherapy Practice in Norcross. Undoubtedly we would have continued to earn that honor as we were the only practice under one roof offering this combination in service.

I owe So Much to you, Jim Harger!

I was with Jim the entire day before his transition. On his literal death bed, he made me promise to continue the Work. Perseverance was his Word. He promised me that he would never leave me throughout our five years and promised me again that he will never leave me! Jim promises to continue our Work now from his Home, Source; Jim always keeps his promises.

So I step forth with courage, curiosity, and knowing… that he will keep his word. I am curious how he will work through me as Jim is now one of my Major guides. I know there must be Perfection in this situation, a profound reason and opportunity for further awakening and healing for me. However, I cannot see it just yet. I am human. I will tuck and roll through this profound loss. My Work is my Medicine, so I Trust the Work will continue.

The loss of Jim’s physical presence is profound! As I make the calls to each of his clients to tell them the news, their reactions and messages are the same: each client, in disbelief, becomes emotional for losing their beloved therapist. Each client expresses how Jim saved their life, became their mentor, friend, and ‘go-to’ confidant. I listen and hold Presence for each one of them as I hear their stories and allow this sadness to seep in. Jim served humanity for over 30 years as a psychotherapist with intention, compassion, empathy, and wisdom.

I will persevere; I trust Jim to continue working with me from the other side, Source, Divine, HOME.

The Radical Forgiveness Invocation:

May we all stand firm in the knowledge and comfort

That all things are now, always have been, and forever will be

In Divine Order, unfolding according to a Divine Plan.

And may we truly surrender to this Plan whether we understand it or not.

May we also ask for support in consciousness,

In feeling our connection with the divine part of us,

With everyone and everything,

So that we may truly say and feel

We are One.

Namaskar,

Alison
